his opponent (scores include handicap) will be awarded ten bonus pins.
4.
The league shall be played on a modified match play round robin format.
Regardless of the number of teams, the league shall consist of 12 rounds
to be played on consecutive weeks. The
11th round shall be the positioning round and shall determine the top
6 teams that will advance to the stepladder finals.
5.
In the stepladder finals, the 4th to 6th placers will play a
one-game shoot-out. The winner of
the match will advance to the 2nd one-game shoot-out between them and
the 2nd and 3rd placers. The winner of the 2nd match will then earn the
right to challenge the top qualifier in a one-game final match.
The winner of the match will be declared Champion.
6.
The rest of the teams will participate in a special event that will
coincide with the finals on the twelfth week. Using the Baker’s format, the teams will bowl a one-game
round robin match play.
6.1
Each team must declare their line up prior to each game.
6.2

& 9th frames. The 2nd
bowler will bowl the 2nd, 6th & 10th
frames. The 3rd bowler
will bowl the 3rd & 7th frames, while the 4th

game.
6.4
Winner of each match wins 1 point. In
case of a tie, the win point will be divided equally between the two teams.
6.5
There will be a lane transfer after every game.
6.6
The team with the most number of points after the series wins the event.
In case of a tie, the team with the greater total pinfalls will occupy
the higher position. If a tie still exists, the team with the smallest difference
between the highest and lowest scores will be declared the winner.
VII.
LANE ASSIGNMENTS.
Before
the start of the tournament, each team will draw for his permanent team number.
The subsequent lane assignment will follow a pre-arranged schedule.
VIII.
HANDICAPPING.
1.
To further provide parity, a handicapping system shall be used:
1.1
Bowlers shall be given a handicap based on the following formula:
(200 –
Average) x 90%
Handicaps are rounded to the nearest whole number.
1.2
Bowlers average will be based on the following:
i. AAXS Bowling Club records
ii. Latest Philippine Bowling Congress Listing
iii. Association or Club Average with at least 24 games played
(a
Certification signed by the President or the Tournament Director must be
presented)
1.3
Bowlers without any recorded averages in any of the sources listed in 1.2
shall be given a temporary entering average of 170 valid until the round the 8th
game is played. Thereafter, the
average & corresponding handicap will be adjusted accordingly, as the new
entering average for the subsequent weeks.
1.4
A maximum handicap of 45 shall apply to all bowlers for the duration of
the league.
1.5
The Tournament Committee reserves the right to amend or assign averages
to all bowlers.
2.
Starting Averages.
2.1
Starting Averages shall be based on the previous league’s final
averages, if available.
2.2
There shall be a minimum number of 8 games required to count for the
actual average.
2.3
If the number of games played was less than 8, then the following formula
will be used to compute the starting average:
2.4
Downward adjustment in the 2001 entering average shall be limited to a
maximum of 5 pins lower than the entering average of the previous league.
3.
Subsequent Averages.
3.1
Averages are computed based on the number of pinfalls divided by the
number of games played.
3.2
For this league, for bowlers with established averages, a buffer of 8
games times the entering average will be added to the total series, divided by
the total no. of games plus 8, to determine the new averages for the 2nd
& 3rd weeks.
The formula is thus: (Entering Ave. x 8) + Total Series
Total No. of Games Played + 8
The new
averages shall be used as the basis for establishing the corresponding handicaps
for the 2nd & 3rd weeks.
Bowlers
without established averages shall follow the rule specified in 1.3.
Should they complete their minimum 6 games within the first 2 weeks, then
the buffer rule will apply on the third week.
3.3
On the fourth week, the buffer will be removed and the real averages,
regardless of the number of games, will be reflected.
3.4
For those with permanent entering averages, a maximum increase of 5 pins
on their handicap base on the entering average, will be allowed for the duration
of the league.

than the total entering average of the four players in each of the games, to
earn the win point.
